Does away with cooling fluid connections and thus reduces complexity of cooling system. The battery casing (2) is made from a single piece of plastic material, and has two lateral walls , two longitudinal walls, a transversal wall and vertical interior dividing walls (8) which form compartments (7) for an electrochemical battery. A lid (3) seals the casing (2). A cooling frame (9) is welded onto the onto the walls (5) so as to form a compartment (20,20') in which a cooling fluid circulates. The thickness of this compartment is about 2 to 4 mm. The transversal wall (6) supports tubes (10) for input and output of the cooling fluid. Over each compartment (7) are pairs of holes for the battery terminals. Each compartment (7) has an orifice (12) in the wall (6) designed to receive a safety valve for gas escape in the case of over pressure.
