PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a plurality of apparatuses through a simple operation.

SOLUTION: Command interpreting sections 32-1 to 32-5 interpret a common command issued from a controller 1, read out possible processing information of processing devices 34-1 to 34-5 capable of executing in response to that command from storage sections 35-1 to 35-5, and transmit that information to a connection apparatus selector 5. A connection apparatus selecting section 63 makes a table listing all connectable combination processing based on the possible processing information of each apparatus and selects an optimal connection state of the apparatus. A control section 62 transmits connection apparatus select information to each selected apparatus. The command interpreting sections 32-1 to 32-5 issue an apparatus processing instruction to control sections 33-1 to 33-5 based on the transmitted connection apparatus select information so that the processing devices 34-1 to 34-5 execute a specified device processing. The invention is applicable to a home network.
