DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING DETERIORATION OF ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method by which the deterioration of a rotary electric machine can be diagnosed accurately regardless of the type of the machine.

SOLUTION: An impulse voltage generator 3 applies an impulse voltage across the power supply terminals of the rotary electric machine 1 through test lines 2. When void discharge occurs in the winding portion of the machine 1 while the impulse voltage is applied, a high-frequency current flows through the test lines 2. A current transformer 4 measures the high-frequency current flowing through the test lines 2 and gives the measured output to an A/D conversion module 6 through a high-pass filter 5. A voltage transformer 7 lowers the impulse voltage impressed upon the test lines 2 to a voltage level at which the impulse voltage can be inputted to the A/D conversion module 6. A personal computer 8 is constituted to display the output waveform of the current transformer 4 outputted through the high-pass filter 5 and the output waveform of the voltage transformer 7 on a monitor based on digital signals inputted from the A/D conversion module 6. The degree of deterioration of the winding of the rotary electric machine 1 is discriminated by observing and comparing the waveforms.
