摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaluating the impact resistance of a slider which enable the impact resistance of the slider to be easily evaluated when a impact force is exerted on the slider, and enable time necessary for designing the slider to be greatly shortened. SOLUTION: On the basis of data such as the outer dimensions or opposing surface shapes of the slider, or the initial space parameter between the slider and a disk, a floating force is obtained from the pressure distribution of a gas lubricant film, and the space parameter of a balanced state when the floating force and a load are balanced is calculated. Then, an intersection point distance from a point of intersection between an extension line which is an extension of a line passed through the center of the width direction of the opposing surfaces and a disk to a slider load application center is obtained. Further, a rigidity coefficient is calculated from the generation pressure of the gas lubricant film of a balanced state, and a rotational center distance is obtained from the ratio of the rotational rigidity in the rigidity coefficient to the coefficient of a vertical force generated by rotational motion.
