PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer system capable of coping with a serial transmission bus such as an IEEE1394 bus, retransmitting data from a transmission origin and reliably transferring the data. SOLUTION: The data transfer system is composed of: a plurality of reception nodes 3 to 5 connected to the serial transfer bus for storing the data; and a data transfer control means 2 for transferring data inputted from a route other than the bus through the bus to a target reception node. The data transfer control means 2 is provided with a data storage part 12 for storing the data and a command storage part 14 for storing a command to the target reception node. The reception nodes 3 to 5 are notified of the address of the command storage part 14 and the generation of a new command, the command is transferred to the reception node by a read request from the reception nodes 3 to 5, and the data are transferred to the reception node by a data request.
