PURPOSE: A method for searching a sub-picture preferable channel in a digital television is provided to use a preferable channel function in a PIP/POP(Picture In Picture/Picture Out Picture) mode. CONSTITUTION: It is judged whether a picture display mode is set up as a PIP mode or a POP mode by a user(S22). If the picture display mode is set up as the PIP mode, a currently received main picture channel is converted according to a channel up/down key pushed by the user(S24,S25). A current sub-picture channel is converted according to a PIP channel up/down key pushed by the user(S26,S27). If the picture display mode is set up as the POP mode, it is judged whether channel rotation is sub-picture channel rotation or previously selected preferable channel rotation(S28). If the channel rotation is the sub-picture channel rotation, the currently received main picture channel is converted according to the channel up/down key pushed by the user(S30,S31). A sub-picture is rotated among searched all receivable channels(S32). If the channel rotation is the previously selected preferable channel rotation, the currently received main picture channel is converted according to the channel up/down key pushed by the user(S34,S35). The sub-picture is rotated between preferable channels(S36,S37). |
