PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for receiving a broadcasting signal are provided to easily search a corresponding CW(Control Word) stored in a CW table and descramble digital data by inserting a program number and a PID(Packet Identifier) index into an input stream. CONSTITUTION: A smart card(205) stores subscriber information, watching right information and watching history information of a subscriber. A control unit(201) extracts PSI(Program Specific Information) and a CAP(Conditional Access Packet) from an inputted scrambled stream, and designates PID information associated with a program to be reproduced from PSI and the CAP. The control unit(201) extracts an ECM(Entitled Control Message), an EMM(Entitled Management Message) and a CWP(Control Word Packet) with respect to the designated program, and extracts an ECW(Encrypted Control Word) from the ECM, and the EMM and the CWP. A PID/SCID(directTV Service Channel ID) filter(204) inserts a program number and PID index information transmitted from the control unit(201) per the packet unit of the scrambled stream. A CW processing device, including a CW generator(207), a CW I/F(Interface)(208) and a CW table(209), decodes the ECW transmitted from the control unit(201) using watching right information stored in the smart card(205), and stores the decoded ECW. The CW processing device decodes the ECW transmitted from the control unit(201) by itself, and stores the decoded ECW. |
