The drive of a hydraulic machine has a control unit, and preferably a second control valve (3) which is pressurized on the inlet side (300) with an inlet pressure, and on the outlet side (310) communicates with a first control port (50) of a first control valve (5), whereby the pressurizing of the first control port exerts a force directed towards the second position of the first control valve. The control unit is connected in such a way that in a domain of low power demand it connects the inlet side to the first control port of the first control valve.
