PURPOSE: A mosquito larvicide composition containing a herbal extract of Pimenta recemosa, Citrus bergamia, Carum carvi or like as an active ingredient is provided. It is low in toxicity to a human body as well as fish and shellfish and thus environmentally friendly. CONSTITUTION: The mosquito larvicide composition contains: an extract of one or more plants selected from the group consisting of Pimenta recemosa, Citrus bergamia, Carum carvi, Daucus carota, Juniperis virginiana, Cuminum cyminum, Ferula galbanifulua, Organum majorana, Commiphora myrrha, Lavandula officinalis and Melaeuca viridiflora and one or more compounds of the formula(1) and (2) as an active ingredient. In formula(1), R1 is -H, -OH, -CH3, R2 is -H, -OH, -CH3. In formula(2), R1 is -H, -OH, -CH3, R2 is -H, -OH, -CH, -COOH, R3 is -H, -OH, -CH3, R4 is -H, -OH, -CH3. |
