Overload detection method and apparatus on bridge cranes

The procedure for the overload registering on a bridge crane entails recording measured values sensed by the load cells (3a,3b) of the traveller according to its disposition on one of the two load holding sides, and from this measurement forming for either side a weight value equivalent to the load, the changes of which during load holding are compensated in relation to each other, and when exceeding a defined load value sending a load error signal. An independent claim is included for a device to carry out the proposed procedure.
