<p>A door stopper unit attached to a door edge comprises a body 2, spring loaded moving means 1 and pad 4. The moving means is pressed downwards with a toe to press pad 4 against the floor. Pressing ratchet button 3 releases the pad. When the pad is replaced by a roller (6, Fig. 3) the door is immobilised with a light force. Means (7, Fig. 3) attached to the door handles may be used to raise the moving means 1. The unit may be mounted to the top of a door. In this instance the moving means engages a tapered locking means 9 mounted on the wall. Pulling the door handle 10 releases the moving means and frees the door. A stop pad 11 mounted on the door frame prevents the door from slamming. Where it is not possible to mount the locking means 9 to a wall, door stopper units may be attached to the top and bottom edges of a door (Fig. 7), the lower unit being provided with a roller that engages the floor.</p> |
