FIELD: manufacture of wood or iron-type face plates of improved construction for golf club heads. ^ SUBSTANCE: face plate for golf club head is made multilayer and is equipped with cavities. Face plate is manufactured from titanium alloy sheet with the use of superplastic forming and pressure welding processes and is made in the form of construction having facing and filler, which forms rigidity ribs. Facing includes surface for striking against ball and has variable thickness increasing from periphery to center. Method involves providing at least three blanks of titanium alloy; collecting blanks into packet; connecting blanks with one another by pressure welding in regulated sites; pressurizing cavity between blanks and forming in die by means of fluid medium under regulated pressure in temperature-speed interval of superplastic deformation until formation by at least one blank of filler having predetermined profile and by outer blanks - of sheathing; producing blank adapted for forming of sheathing including surface for striking against ball from at least two sheets having different areas. ^ EFFECT: increased effectiveness of strike and improved strength of face plate. ^ 21 cl, 10 dwg |
