FIELD: genetic engineering, molecular biology, medical-biological industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: by screening mouse cDNA library the nucleotide sequence encoding protein thrombopoietin is isolated. This protein elicits ability to stimulate MPL-dependent proliferation or differentiation of cell-precursors of myeloid or lymphoid order. Vectors for expression of the prepared encoding sequence in yeast and mammalian cells are constructed.
