A tamper-evident closure including a cap (12) having a base (14) and an upstanding post (16), the base defining a circular channel (26). A spout (18) is positioned on the upstanding post, with the spout carrying a circumferential skirt (24) permanently retained in the circular channel (26). A frangible line of weakness (22) permits separation of the spout (18) from the circumferential skirt (24). The spout (18) and circumferential skirt (24) are of a color that contrasts with the color of the base (14) and post (16), so that, upon movement of the spout on the post, the circumferential skirt (24) remains in the channel (26) to provide a visual indication of such movement.
