FIELD: petroleum chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing addition agents designated for reducing solidification temperature of lubricant oils. Method involves separate esterification of methacrylic acid with fraction of linear (C8-C12)-alcohols and fraction of linear (C16-C20)-alcohols followed by separate radical polymerization of prepared esters. Prepared polymers are mixed in the ratio = (25-40):(60-75), respectively. Radical polymerization of esters is carried out preferably at temperature 60-100 C in the presence of dinitrile-azo-bis-isobutyric acid or benzoyl peroxide as an initiating agent and organic solvent taken in the amount 50-80% of ester loading.
