<p>658,487. Safety lamps. PERSSON, F. R. Nov. 15, 1949, No. 29209. [Class 75(iv)] In an electric safety lamp having two spaced protective hoods 10, 11 the inner hood 10 is made of glass and the outer hood 11 is made of synthetic plastic. The outer plastic hood is either transparent or translucent and is spaced not less than five millimeters from the inner hood which is frosted. The outer hood is provided with a. threaded collar 14 for securing it to the body 6 of the lamp and with an internal shoulder 12 for clamping a flange 9 on the inner hood to the lamp body. Washers 8, 15 seal the joints. The lamp body 6 is made of heat resisting material such as asbestos-filled phenol formaldehyde condensation product and is of elongated shape to serve as a handle. The electric leads pass through the handle to the lamp socket 4.</p> |
