An insulating device is disclosed, comprising a sheet. According to the invention at least one projection is provided on one of the both large surfaces of the sheet. Furthermore a method for the production of an insulating device, comprising a sheet with at least one projection on one of the both large surfaces of the sheet is disclosed, whereby (a) a sheet like base material is produced, the thickness of which is at least as thick as the sum of the thickness of the sheets to be produced and the height of the projection and (b) separation of the sheet-like base material into at least two parts, whereby at least one of the parts has the form of a sheet with at least one projection.
