PURPOSE: A voltage-controlled oscillator having less-restricted component layouts and internal layer patterns, a composite module, and a communication apparatus are provided to utilize efficiently the inside space of the voltage-controlled oscillator by using a resistor having one end thereof electrically connected to a base of a transistor and the other end thereof electrically connected to a ground part through an inductor element. CONSTITUTION: A voltage-controlled oscillator includes a resonant circuit(2) and an amplifying circuit(3). The resonant circuit includes an inductor element having one end thereof electrically connected to a ground part. The amplifying circuit includes a transistor and a resistor. The resistor has one end thereof electrically connected to a base of the transistor and the other end thereof electrically connected to the ground part through the inductor element. The inductor element includes one of a microstrip line and a strip line.
