METHOD FOR MANAGING STOCK

PURPOSE: A method for managing stock is provided to efficiency operate the stock by drawing out an optimal stock level depending on a realistic demand pattern for a product or materials having the demand pattern not following a normalized distribution. CONSTITUTION: The past demand information is extracted from present sales results. A seasonal feature of the demand results is removed by dividing the extracted demand into a monthly seasonal index. A sales pattern is realized by randomly extracting the demand results that the seasonal feature is removed. A future demand including the seasonal feature is estimated by multiplying the sales pattern by the seasonal index of an estimated demand time. The optimal stock level satisfying the estimated future demand is decided. The stock is managed by the decided optimal stock level.
