The module has a weighing pan (18) which integrates a weighing cell and a motorized driving unit (22) for transport of a courier article from one end of the pan to another end. A detecting unit with Hall effect detector and an optical sensor detects size of the courier article. A processing unit calculates weight of the article in a determined weight interval obtained from the size.
