PURPOSE: A mobile device having a power control function and a method for controlling power of a mobile device are provided to cut off power supplied to an unnecessary function module when a specific program and function modules are driven in a mobile device. CONSTITUTION: A database for function modules to be driven in association with each program and function module when the programs and the function modules of a mobile device are driven is set(S100). When the mobile device drives an E-BOOK program, function modules required to be driven additionally according to the database are selected(S200). A switching unit supplies power, which is supplied from a power source unit, to the selected function modules according to the database(S300).
