摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting noise in a low voltage differential signal communication system are provided to prevent malfunction of a system by not transmitting erroneous data to the next stage. CONSTITUTION: An error detector is initialized to a write enable state(400), receives data from a receiver and stores it in a buffer. The error detector reads one data packet from the buffer(405) and increases a read enable count value by 1(410). The error detector determines whether the read enable counter value is the same as a pre-set value(415). If the read enable count value is the same as the pre-set value, the error detector resets the read enable count value(420). The error detector determines whether there is an error in the data(425). If there is an error in the data, the error detector increases an error count value by 1(430). The error detector determines whether the error count value exceeds a predetermined number(435). If the error count value exceeds the predetermined number, the error detector determines that the data has an error and resets the read enable count value and the error count value(440). The error detector is switched to a write disable state and an LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) locked state(445). The error detector monitors the LVDS locked state and determines whether the LVDS locked state is normal(450).
