PURPOSE: A color filter substrate and a display device are provided to enable each color filter set having different colors to have different areas, and to minimize unwanted deterioration of display quality even though the color filter sets are misaligned. CONSTITUTION: A color filter substrate(100A) includes plural color filters(40,50,60) and shielding layers(30) located on a glass substrate(102). All the color filters(40,50,60) are provided within a display area to form colors which can display corresponding pixels. The shielding layers(30) consist of a shielding portion(30A) provided within a non-display area and a shielding portion(30B) provided within the display area. Each color filter A(40) has the first side(41) and the second side(42) for defining a width thereof in a row direction(22). Each color filter B(50) has the first side(51) and the second side(52) for defining a width thereof in the row direction(22).
