PURPOSE: A field emission display is provided to achieve improved quality of image by controlling a path of electron beams, and to improve contrast of screen by increasing amount of the electron beams. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display comprises a first substrate(2) and a second substrate(4) opposite to each other; a gate electrode(6) formed on the first substrate with a stripe pattern; an insulating layer(8) covering the gate electrode and formed on the first substrate; a cathode electrode(10) formed on the insulating layer with a stripe pattern and having a plurality of via units(12) within a cross section with the gate electrode; a plurality of emitters(14) arranged along the direction of the cathode in the via units and connected electrically to the cathode electrode; a transparent anode electrode(16) formed on the second substrate; and a phosphor film(18) formed on the anode electrode with a predetermined shape.
