PURPOSE: A door locking device of a washing machine is provided to operate a locker with a bimetal, to hold a locking state even in power failure by a solenoid and a heater, and to manually release the door-locking state. CONSTITUTION: A door locking device of a washing machine is composed of an operating bar(4) of a solenoid(3) installed in a casing(1), connected to an electric wire(2), elastically supported by a spring(5), and selectively inserted into and separated from an inserting groove(7) of a locker(6) and a latch(9) elastically supported by the spring to hold locking and unlocking states with inserting and separating a hook of a door and to include a hanging sill corresponding to a hanging unit of the hook. The locker includes a projection(14) for operating a second electrode(13) switched by a leaf spring-shaped first electrode(12) and moves forward and reverse by a bimetal(18) connected to a third electrode(17) by a heater(16) elastically supported by the spring. |
