PURPOSE: A safety device of a vehicle is provided to prevent collision in waiting at the crossroad by operating a brake at the red or yellow traffic light and releasing the brake at the green traffic light. CONSTITUTION: A safety device of a vehicle is formed by installing a limit unit to a brake pedal(P). The limit unit operates the brake at the red or yellow light by detecting color signals of a signal lamp at the crossroad and releases the brake at the green light in detecting stop of the vehicle by a vehicle speed sensor(SS). The limit unit is composed of a camera(1) installed outside the vehicle to detect color of the signal lamp, an electronic control unit(2) connected to the camera to receive the color signal, and a braking unit controlled by the electronic control unit and installed to operate the brake pedal in detecting the red or yellow light and to release the brake pedal in detecting the green light.
