PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly high frequency heating device providing proper operation guide information to a user during or after cooking for reducing effects of uneven heating. SOLUTION: This high frequency heating device comprises a heating chamber 1 to a heating object 5, a steam detection means 13 to detect steam from the object 5, and a display element 8 to display operation guide. Timing for giving operation guide is determined based on timing when steam is detected by the steam detection means 13. In this constitution, proper operation guide is guided at timing when steam is detected, at timing leaving prescribed time before completion of cooking, or at completion of cooking. As the user follows the guide to operate, effects of uneven heating can be reduced, so that the user-friendly high-frequency heating device is thus realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
