PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking nut which provides no eccentric load to a bolt, and is easily manufactured and excellent in load balance to the bolt. SOLUTION: First and second slit parts 13 and 14 to partially notch an inner female screw from both sides are formed in a nut body 11 with the female screw 12 of the nominal diameter d in the center thereof. The distance b between groove bottoms of the first and second slit parts 13 and 14 is in a range of 0.15 to 0.8 time the nominal diameter d. First and second pressing pieces 15 and 16 which are formed on the upper side of the center in the vertical direction of the nut body 11, and formed on an upper portion of the nut body 11 by the first and second slit parts 13 and 14 are plastically deformed and folded downwardly.
