An information recording medium having a high-sensitivity visible information recording layer capable of recording at a comparatively low temperature without thermally affecting an electronic information recording medium and being excellent in displayed record durability. The information recording medium comprises at least a visible information recording layer and a substrate, characterized in that the visible information recording layer contains organic particles having a melting point of at least 50°C and up to 180°C and an average particle size of at least 0.5 mum and up to 2.0 mum, and permits recording without involving the substantial chemical change of the organic particles that may be caused by heating or light irradiation.
