Medical unit (1) for carrying out and or monitoring a medical process on a patient has a number of microprocessor units (11a-11f) linked by a data, e.g. CAN, bus (10). At least one of the microprocessors is suitable for transmission of data packets with a first identifier over the data bus in broadcast mode to a first group of the other microprocessor units.
