<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of detecting the abnormality of a destaticizer without changing a process or a system and without adding a new component or circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a photoreceptor 1, a main electrifier 2 uniformly electrifying the surface of the photoreceptor 1, a developing device 4 developing a toner image on the photoreceptor 1, a transfer roller 5 transferring the toner image developed on the photoreceptor 1 to paper P, the destaticizer 7 eliminating charge on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 and a control means successively controlling the operation of the electrifier 2, the developing device 4, the transfer roller 5 and the destaticizer 7 in specified timing so as to perform printing processing. In the apparatus, the operation of the charger 2 is stopped for a specified time, and the operation of the destaticizer 7 is confirmed according to the presence or absence of the history of the electrification stopping time on the photoreceptor 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
