<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which prevents the occurrence of a kinking phenomenon or a breaking phenomenon in its catheter tube. <P>SOLUTION: This balloon catheter 2 is equipped with at least a second outer tube member 6b of an outer tube 6 having a first lument 7 permitting a fluid to flow formed therein along its longitudinal direction, an operation pipe 60, which has a port 64 permitting the fluid to flow, permits the insertion of the proximal end part of the second outer tube member 6b and makes the port 64 communicate with the lumen 7 of the second outer tube member 6b and the cylindrical low-rigidity member 55, which is positioned on the distal end side of the operation pipe 60, permits the insertion of the proximal end part of the second outer tube member 6b and reaches a low rigidity toward its distal end. The balloon catheter 2 is constituted so that the second outer tube member 6b has a reinforcing tube 48 for covering the proximal end part of the second outer tube member 6b and the reinforcing tube 48 is axially inserted in the low-rigidity member 55 so that the distal end of the reinforcing tube 48 is positioned on the distal end side of the distal end of the low-rigidity member 55. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
