<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus where the positional deviation of point light sources along the thickness direction of a light guide plate is prevented, and to provide a liquid crystal display having it. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting equipment comprises a plurality of point light sources 21; a flexible wiring board 22 where the point light sources 21 are mounted; the light guide plate 23, having an incident surface 23a where the light from the point light sources 21 is entered, which guides the light from the incident surface 23a to an object to be irradiated; and a frame 24 holding at least the flexible wiring board 22 and the light guide plate 23.
