<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reversibly and continuously measure a concentration of catalyst poison gas such as CO, without requiring a restoration means such as a heater, and to measure the concentration of catalyst poison gas without being affected by a concentration of H<SB>2</SB>O. <P>SOLUTION: An electric circuit 15 for a gas sensor has an alternating current source 19 for impressing an alternating current between both electrodes 3, 5, an A.C voltmeter 21 for measuring an alternating current voltage (alternating current active voltage V) between the both electrodes 3, 5, and an A.C ampere meter 23 for measuring a current (alternating active current I) between the both electrodes 3, 5. The alternating current is impressed between the both electrodes 3, 5 to find an impedance based on the alternating current active voltage V and the alternating active current I generated therein. The concentration of catalyst poison gas is found based on the impedance, using a map indicating a relation between the impedance and the concentration of catalyst poison gas, because the impedance corresponds to the concentration of catalyst poison gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
