<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor, capable of suppressing rises in electrical contact resistance values between element electrode parts and a metal terminal and suppressing reductions in detection accuracy, even when in use under a high-temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: In an oxygen sensor 2, a plated layer 21 made of platinum (Pt) is formed at a wave-like part 16 of a detection element 4, in contact with electrode parts 30, 32, 34, 36 in a lead frame 10. Since platinum has the characteristics of superior oxidation resistance, since it is hardly oxidized under a high-temperature environment and of a small electrical contact resistance value, rises in electrical contact resistance values between the plated layer 21 and the electrode parts 30, 32, 34, 36 can be suppressed. Therefore, since rises in the contact resistance value between the lead frame 10 and the detecting element 4 can be suppressed, reduction in the signal level of a detection signal outputted from the oxygen sensor 2 can be suppressed, and oxygen detection accuracy can be prevented from lowering. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
