PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device linkage management system that suitably reduces cost and effort and increases reliability.

SOLUTION: A network printer 200 can be set as either a server printer 200 or a client printer 200. If the network printer 200 itself serves as a client printer 200, it transmits status information in a status information registration table 560 to a server printer 200. If the network printer 200 itself serves as a server printer 200, upon reception of status information, it registers the received status information in a collective status information registration table.
