PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment with which a telephone number can be surely registered on a telephone directory with simple operations. SOLUTION: When the communication equipment detects a calling signal from a base station (S1), a calling alarm is sounded and at the same time, when a caller number is sent from the caller side (S2), its telephone number data are stored in a memory to display the telephone number on a display part (S3). Afterwards, the incoming call is received by user's off-hook operation and speech operations are performed (S4). After the end of speech, a telephone number desired to register on the telephone directory is selected, and the telephone number data are transferred and stored into a telephone directory memory (S6) by a predetermined single registration operation (S5). Afterwards, a registration name corresponding to the telephone number is registered and the telephone number and the registration name are registered in the telephone directory memory (S7) by by the predetermined registration operation.
