PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comparatively easily select and set a desired function provided in an equipment main body without requiring a complicated menu and key operation. SOLUTION: In portable terminal equipment having panels that can be attached to/detached from the equipment main body, the panels 35a and 35b hold peculiar panel identification information. The equipment main body recognizes panel identification information of the installed panels and selects and sets a function provided in the equipment main body in accordance with recognized panel identification information.
