PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary tray which can maintain a gap adjustment state even if a tray length is not made longer than necessary or more, and to provide a recording device. SOLUTION: A gap maintaining means 137 for maintaining an automatically adjusted gap is set at the auxiliary tray 130 which assists recording to a recording medium by automatically adjusting the gap between the recording medium and a recording head or the like while the recording medium that cannot be transferred is carried and transferred.
