<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method applicable to actual industrial manufacturing when improving an absorption type polarizing film to be of high performance by irradiating it with linearly polarized light, further to provide a laminated polarizing film of an obtainable specific layer structure, and a polarized light source device and a liquid crystal display device using the film. <P>SOLUTION: The laminated polarizing film 10 of high transmittance and high polarization degree can be manufactured by laminating an absorption type polarizing film 21 and the reflection type polarizing film 25 so that the polarized light transmission axes of both films are almost in parallel, and irradiating them in that state with active rays such as ultraviolet rays from the reflection type polarizing film 25 side. It is a new layer constitution to adopt a photo-hardening adhesive as an adhesive layer 27 for lamination. When a light source device 61 is arranged on the reflection type polarizing film 25 side of this laminated polarizing film 10, the arrangement serves as a polarized light source device 62, and when liquid crystal cells 30 and a front surface side absorption type polarizing film 41 are arranged in this order on the absorption type polarizing film 21 side of this polarized light source device 62, the arrangement serves as a liquid crystal display device 63. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
