<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that is small-sized and simplified. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module includes: a first board 30 on which a first wiring pattern 32 is formed; a second board 40 on which a second wiring pattern 42 is formed and placed in opposition to the first board 30; an optical chip 10 located between the first and second boards 30, 40, and including an optical part 12 and an electrode 24 electrically connected to the first wiring pattern 32; an electric connection part 60 having a projection higher than the thickness of the optical chip 10 and electrically interconnecting the first and second wiring patterns 32, 42 between the first and second boards 30, 40; and an enclosure 70 for supporting a lens 72 for collecting light to the optical part 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
