PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and device capable of positively inspecting a bearing clearance between a shaft and a shaft storage portion in a fluid dynamic-pressure bearing. SOLUTION: To provide the inspection method and device capable of positively inspecting the bearing clearance between the shaft and the shaft storage portion in the fluid dynamic-pressure bearing, the shaft in the bearing to be tested is positioned at a functional position of the shaft storage portion to set measurement fluid so as to pass through the bearing clearance.
