PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leak inspection method for water purifying cartridges, which can inspect the leakage of the water-purifying cartridge easily, accurately and rapidly, and can be applied readily to a quality management. SOLUTION: The leak inspection method of the water-purifying cartridge is provided with a first measurement step, in which changes in the pressure inside a reference water-purifying cartridge are measured after supplying inspection gas having a prescribed pressure value into the reference water-purifying cartridge containing at least a porous agent and being verified that there is no leakage; and a second measurement step in which the changes in the pressure inside the water purifying cartridge 1, that is an object to be inspected are measured, after supplying inspection gas having a prescribed pressure value identical to that used in the first measurement step into the water purifying cartridge 1, having a structure identical to that of the reference water purifying cartridge. The presence or the absence of the leak in the water-purifying cartridge 1 is inspected, based on both pressure change values measured by the first measurement step and pressure change values measured by the second measurement step.
