PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch which reduces the weight by using one retainer, prevents inclination of a sprag during the assembly, is easily assembled, and reduces the number of parts, the manufacturing cost or the like. SOLUTION: A single retainer having a flange part to press an outer circumferential surface against an inner circumferential surface of an outer ring and a pocket to arrange a sprag in the circumferential direction is used in an annular space between the outer ring 1 and an inner ring. The flange part extending in the inside diameter direction is provided on an end of one side of the outer ring 1, and an annular projecting part 1p having an inner circumferential surface of the same diameter as the outside diameter of the inner ring 2 and extending on the sprag 3 side with the same width as that of a flange part 4f of the retainer 4 outwardly in the radial direction is integrally provided on the inner side of the flange part. A ring may be used in place of the annular projecting part 1p. In addition, one-way clutch of similar configuration may be arranged in the flange part of a stator. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
