PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive folding chair having a simple structure, which can be compactly and beautifully folded along a wall when it is not used, and which can be lightly and easily drawn out and used by a physically handicapped person, and which is capable of maintaining a stable use position without rattling. SOLUTION: A seat plate 1, a strut 2, a leg pestle 3 and link bars 4 of the folding chair are linked substantially by a four-point link structure so that the seat plate 1 rotates from a vertical folded position to a horizontal use position with respect to the vertical strut 2 fitted to the wall A. The link bars 4 and a part of the leg pestle 3 are stored inside a frame of the strut 2 having generally a letter U shape, when the chair is folded.
