PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner repeater which modifies a push type scanner device corresponding to non-network for transmitting identification information corresponding to each of a plurality of kinds of operation inputs to the outside and reading picture data according to a picture reading command received from the outside in accordance with this transmission, and transmitting the picture data to the outside, into the one corresponding to network. SOLUTION: A scan ID being operation identification information used for selecting picture reading conditions or the like is used for selecting which of a plurality of host PCs 3 network connected to a scanner repeater X should be a communicated party (S303). Information such as the picture readings conditions corresponding to the scan ID is transmitted to the host PC 3 of the communicated party (S304), protocol conversion is performed with a scan command replied from the host PC 3 and the scan command is sent to a scanner device 1 (S306 to SS308).
