SHOCK SENSOR

A shock sensor with high reliability which can surely sense a shock within a very short time period is disclosed. A shock sensor (10) comprises a magnetostrictive element (12) whose magnetic permeability changes according to the acceleration of a shock, a bias electric field applying means (14) for applying a bias electric field to the magnetostrictive element (12), and an electric field measuring means (16) for measuring the intensity of the electric field in the vicinity of the magnetostrictive element (12).
