The bearing (1) for a fast rotating shaft (2) has a runner (4) which for the forming of a crowned running surface (11) has a radius (R) continuously decreasing or increasing from both axial ends up to a common apex (10). The outer bearing (6) which provides a housing for the runner has a shape complementary to the runner. The runner is constructed in one piece, and the outer bearing is formed from two shell halves fitted to one another along a center plane (9) which includes the rotational axis (3).
