<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM light source economical for practically using a WDM-PON. <P>SOLUTION: The WDM light source is provided with an optical amplifier 30 for generating ASE from rear excitation of a pump laser 10, a multiplexer/demultiplexer 50 for demultiplexing an input signal of one input/output terminal for outputting from a plurality of input/output terminals, and multiplexing input signals of the plurality of input/output terminals for outputting from the one input/output terminal, respective mirrors 55 each connected to the plurality of input/output terminals to re-input the demultiplexed signals, a circulator 40 for transmitting the output signal of the optical amplifier 30 to the multiplexer/demultiplexer 50 and outputting a multiplexed signal outputted from the input/output terminal to a BPF 60, an optical amplifier 70 for performing amplification with the rear excitation of the pump laser 10, an optical distributor 80 for distributing the amplified multiplexed signal to the optical amplifier 30 and an external output, and an external modulator 90 for modulating the externally outputted multiplexed signal with a broadcast service signal for outputting to a transmission link. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
