<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire for the cautery (ablation) therapy and thermotherapy which is hardly affected by high frequency, etc., by increasing the ratio of the resin material at the tip. <P>SOLUTION: The guide wire consists of a body made of a metal material, a soft part 8 from the tip to the rear end consisting of a flexible part 7 and a tapered part 6, and an operation part 5. The guide wire also has a contrast marker 1 at the tip end of the soft part.
